MISSION
Our Mission is to provide education and advocacy for people with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities, with or without physical disabilities, so that they can achieve equal opportunities in all aspects of life. Our goal is to provide total integration of people with mental disabilities into the whole of society.
PWDF is an IRS approved § 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions are tax deductible.
SERVICES
PWDF’s Advocacy Program provides legal representation and consultations for individuals with psychiatric and/or intellectual/ developmental disabilities (IDD) on Social Security (SSDI and SSI) benefits before the Social Security Administration (SSA) and in federal court. PWDF also provides representation in employment, post secondary education, health care and housing. PWDF’s Education Program is designed to increase public awareness and education on these issues and others related to psychiatric and IDD. We organize public awareness Seminars and Workshops to educate the public while promoting social changes to ensure access and independence for individuals with mental and/or IDD. PWDF also actively works to provide Parity in Advocacy for those with psychiatric and/or IDD.NEWS
