PWDF Updates

Advocacy: We won the case in federal court for SSDI benefits, MF v. SSA Commissioner, and it was remanded to the SSA, which we also won. MF’s application for disability benefits was submitted in August of 2015, so she won her case after 7 years, with a psychiatrist testifying that the claimant had met the SSA listing for post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD), i.e., the highest level of severity. This medical evidence was sufficient to prove disability, thus additional witness testimony was not required. We also have several cases at the ALJ level. We are seeking to hire two disability lawyers; see our Careers page for more information.

Education/Public Awareness: Our next 3-hour seminar is Older Adults with Psychiatric and/or Developmental Disabilities. More information to be announced in a future e-newsletter.
