PWDF: Focus on Mental Disabilities

Vol. 50 – Fall/Winter 2023:

Op Ed: The First 23 Years of People With Disabilities Foundation (PWDF) Holiday Op Ed
Since the year 2000, PWDF has focused on people with mental or developmental disabilities. In about 20 discrimination cases, with 6 going to court against the Social Security Administration (SSA) in 2001, 2006, 2009, and 2 presently in 2023, we come to the undeniable conclusion that the SSA intentionally carries out its policy and practice of making it dangerously difficult for these populations to get on disability benefits and to stay on them when the Agency effectuates medical or work Continuing Disability Reviews (CDRs).

Seasons Greetings: A Holiday Message From PWDF
We hope this message finds you healthy and in good spirits. We continue to work at our mission as an essential nonprofit agency, providing legal services to some of the most vulnerable in our community. As you make your year-end decisions about where your contributions can make the biggest difference, we ask that you put us at the top of your list and assist us in continuing with this very important work. Help us to begin 2024 in a position to do even more to ensure the most vulnerable among us get the assistance they so desperately need.

PWDF Update: PWDF is looking for a volunteer, experienced litigator to assist on the current disability discrimination cases discussed in the Holiday Op-Ed above. Please send letter of interest, resume, and references to info@pwdf.org. Selected candidate will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
