PWDF: Focus on Mental Disabilities

Update

People With Disabilities Foundation (PWDF): Grant Program Update

People With Disabilities Foundation (PWDF), an IRS § 501(c)(3) public, nonprofit agency that serves people with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities, is pleased to announce a pilot grant program.

PWDF’s mission is to provide education and advocacy for people with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities, so that they can achieve equal opportunities in all aspects of life.  PWDF currently accomplishes its mission through two programs:  the Advocacy Program and the Public Awareness and Education Program.

PWDF is initiating a pilot grant program to help other agencies in their work to integrate people with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities into the whole of society.  Grants may be used for a specific program, a specific project, or general operating expenses if related to a specific project or program, in furtherance of providing advocacy, education, vocational, or other services to people with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities.

It is anticipated that this pilot program will award smaller grants in the range of $5,000 to $10,000, with a goal of future program expansion that will make larger awards. Letters of Interest for this pilot phase were originally due on March 20, 2017, however, we will be extending this deadline. We will notify all individuals who have submitted an LOI or requested the LOI application of the new deadline as soon as it is determined.  If you have any questions about the Grant Program, please contact April Banerjee at ed@pwdf.org.
